THE INFANT ROOM - INCHWORM CLASS
(6 weeks old to Early Walkers/18 months)
Infants need interaction and to develop a sense of trust with their caregiver. That’s why we cuddle, rock, even make silly sounds and faces, everything possible to bond with your baby. We play simple games like peekaboo, sing songs, read stories, introduce baby sign language and baby phonics, take walks, and even have a lot of fun with basic art! Our safe environment mixed with our nurturing certified teachers, help infants develop in key areas — cognitively, emotionally and physically.
Our Inchworm classroom has a ratio of 1 teacher to every 4 babies. Every child has their very own crib, and we ask that the parents provide their crib sheet and blanket. They also each have their very own cubby bin to keep their extra clothes and supplies. Each child is given a section of the fridge to keep their bottles and food. There is also a designated area in our "diaper changing room" for your child's diapers, wipes, and creams. Each teacher wears gloves while diapering and uses disposable sanitary paper on the changing table. The sanitary paper is discarded and the changing table is wiped down and sanitized after EACH use! Also, all of the toys and tables are wiped down at the end of each day to avoid the spread of germs. All of our teachers are First Aid and CPR certified and also participate in Continuing Education programs throughout the year to further enhance their childcare skills.
This room introduces phonics through a "Baby Hooked-On Phonics" reading and storytelling program. The teachers also use basic baby sign language to help the children communicate. Every other Monday we have a music instructor who comes in to sing songs, as well as introduce the babies to the keyboard and other various instruments. Our babies also have tummy time and are taken for walks outside!
Each baby has a daily report form that is filled out by their teachers, as the day progresses. This helps parents learn what their baby has done throughout the day, upon pick up.

The Pre-Kindergarten Room: Dragonfly Class
(4 years old to 6 years old)
Everything we do in our Preschool programs, in some way, is a preparation for each student’s big move up to Kindergarten! But our Pre-Kindergarten program is really where your child masters the skills necessary to succeed in elementary school and beyond. To develop language skills, the pre-k classroom teachers focus on letters, words, numbers, and early science and math concepts. To stimulate and promote young imaginations and creativity, teachers have the children engage in arts and crafts, dramatic play, storytelling, and more importantly are “Question of the Week”. With our “Question of the Week” we encourage kids to use critical thinking and their imaginations to answer educational and sometimes even silly questions. For example: “What if you were teacher for the day?”, “What do you think happened to the Dinosaurs?”, “Who is your hero and why?”, or “What if you caught a leprechaun?” Our students love this part of the school week and really enjoy hearing the answers of their peers, as well as sharing their own responses. After we have a group discussion, students take their seats to design a picture in order to illustrate their response. Whether our students are engaged in math, science, writing, or free play, we strive to make sure everything is presented with a large dose of fun!
The ratio in our Dragonfly classroom is 1 teacher to every 12 children, however it is taught by 2 lead teachers in order to better prepare the children for their big move into Kindergarten. Each student is given their very own Hooked-On-Phonics workbook as well as a writing board to help enhance their handwriting, reading, and math skills.
